May 7, 2026Kitchen Trends 2026 from Salone del Mobile.Milano and EuroCucina
Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 and EuroCucina 2026 confirm that the modern kitchen is becoming one of the most important spaces in the modern home.
The kitchen is no longer a closed, technical space, but increasingly serves as an open-plan living area, seamlessly connected to the living room, dining room, terrace, or home office. Contemporary premium kitchen design today is based on a harmonious blend of design, technology, ergonomics, and everyday comfort.
This year's EuroCucina clearly demonstrated a new approach to kitchen design – more intelligent, minimalist, and user-focused. The world's leading brands presented solutions in which modern materials, lighting architecture, and smart home technologies create cohesive and functional interiors. The kitchen has become the focal point of the home and a space that fosters relationships, comfort, and a modern lifestyle.
The kitchen opens to the living room and living space
One of the most important interior design trends for 2026 is blurring the lines between the kitchen and other areas of the home. Modern premium kitchens are designed as part of a larger, cohesive interior architecture, where materials, colors, and light naturally intertwine.
Veneta Cucine presented the Spazio Continuo concept, based on large, monolithic shapes, kitchen islands, and surfaces that seamlessly flow from the interior to outdoor areas such as terraces and gardens. Snaidero, during the brand's 80th anniversary celebrations, focused on the concept of synesthesia, creating spaces that connect the kitchen and living room through light, materials, and emotion. Scavolini, meanwhile, is developing the concept of the integrated home through its Flair and Stilo systems, which unite the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and home office into a single aesthetic whole.
Smart Kitchen and Technology Hidden in Design
The modern smart home kitchen is becoming increasingly intuitive and invisible. Technologies showcased at EuroCucina 2026 don't visually dominate the interior, but subtly support users' daily routines. Smart appliances, automation, and AI systems are primarily designed to enhance the convenience, ergonomics, and comfort of kitchen use.
Miele unveiled the CulinaryCoach system, which uses artificial intelligence to personalize recipes and automatically adjust appliance parameters. Whirlpool is developing 6th SENSE technology, which automatically optimizes the performance of home appliances. Siemens, celebrating the 100th anniversary of its first oven, introduced smart appliances in new Matt Edition matte finishes, while LG and the Signature Kitchen Suite are consistently developing the luxury premium smart home kitchen segment.
Premium Materials and Minimalist Design
Natural materials, ultra-matte surfaces, and minimalist forms dominate the key kitchen trends for 2026. Designers are increasingly turning to premium materials inspired by nature – wood, stone, metal, and modern laminates with expressive textures. Integrated LED lighting systems are also gaining popularity, emphasizing the architecture of furniture and creating an interior atmosphere.
